Indeed, many licensed premises have taken significant steps to train their staff in the health and safety issues that are central to their responsibility not to serve alcohol to persons who may be intoxicated or underage. That responsibility falls squarely on the employers, and failure to comply with the legislation may result in prosecution.Procurators fiscal are happy to speak to licensees about the legislation and to assist with the training of staff where circumstances permit within the local community.
