In the past eight years, fuel poverty has reduced by more than half, which has reduced the number of households in fuel poverty to way below a quarter of a million. Our central heating programme is the best targeted and most effective in the United Kingdom and, as anyone who has spoken to any pensioner who has benefited from that programme knows, it has gone a long way towards ensuring that Scotland's pensioners have far warmer and more comfortable winters.
