I appreciate the member's concern, which I raised when I asked the Scottish Law Commission to undertake that work. The law is complex and we must get it right. I considered several other options for reviewing the legislation, but concluded that the correct way to proceed was to involve the commission.

I stress that the regional meetings to which I referred are being arranged in conjunction with NFU Scotland and the Scottish Crofting Foundation.
