It might be the Executive's intention to have a further four extensions, each of which may be of six months. However, if the regulations do not say that, they are poorly drafted at best.
We shall see whether we can come to conclusions at the end of the paper. It may be that some members feel that the draft guidance covers our concerns sufficiently, and we do not have the time or energy to negotiate through that.
I know that the group of which Alex Neil is convener has already absorbed some predecessor cross-party groups, so it may well be that Donald Gorrie's suggestion is taken on board.
