Inevitably, at this point in a project, we encounter a tension between cost and programme. If a design that has been fully worked is tested in the market and comes in over budget—as has been suggested in the risk register might happen—the client has to decide whether it is better to spend four weeks redesigning it to try get some money back, which inevitably has a cost to the programme, or to press on.
