Is the minister aware that, under the current proposals, the Treasury will pocket more than 60 per cent of the surplus, while the ex-employees will receive less than 40 per cent and will also have to pay income tax?

To ask the Scottish Executive what the total number of employees is in each of its rural affairs department offices; where these are located, and how many clients each has on its register.

I am merely sounding a note of caution.When we are undertaking major programmes of change, we should bring someone in from outside the system to run the programmes.
