Members' Business motions that have achieved cross party support *S6M-01042 Michael Marra: Action on Brain Injury in Football—That the Parliament understands that an increasing number of ex-footballers in the North East Scotland region and across the country are making public a diagnosis regarding brain injury, and that a growing research base highlights the increased risk of such injury that professional players face; notes the view that the sport's governing bodies must take swift action to support former players and protect those currently involved in the game; further notes calls for such conditions among footballers to be considered as an industrial injury; recognises the campaigning by PFA Scotland, the GMB and other organisations regarding this, and notes calls for a working group to be established to consider these issues, which should also focus on the grassroots game.

Motion agreed to, That the Parliament welcomes the global 16 Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence and 2018’s theme to “End Gender-based Violence in the World of Work”; commends the many activists and organisations, both in Scotland and across the world, that are providing frontline support for survivors, raising awareness of this important issue and working tirelessly to challenge the underlying attitudes and inequalities that perpetuate violence against women and girls; reaffirms its support for Equally Safe, Scotland’s strategy to prevent and eradicate all forms of violence against women and girls; reflects on the advancements made and welcomes the publication of the first progress report for Equally Safe; continues its work to eliminate sexual harassment; notes that this is a societal issue and calls on communities everywhere to stand shoulder to shoulder in sending a clear message that violence against women and girls is never acceptable, and urges everyone in Scotland to continue to challenge harassment and abuse, hold perpetrators to account for their behaviour...
