Members' Support Allowance (1) A Member shall be eligible for an allowance of up to £49,300 for each financial year ("the maximum Member's Support Allowance") for the purposes set out in subparagraph (2) and subject to the conditions as appropriate set out in sub-paragraphs (3) to (13). (2) The purposes of this allowance are to enable a member: - (a) to engage as an employee (whether full-time or part-time, temporary or permanent) or through an agency or on a contract for services, personnel to assist the member in carrying out his or her Parliamentary duties.
