We heard today from Dr Cantlay that he had, understandably, sought details of the chief executive’s contractual position because, as others have mentioned, the management statement allows for the chief executive to be in a different position from other employees. Dr Cantlay told us that he had sought legal advice.
The equal pay unit was set up by the management steering group to manage equal pay claims; its employees are employed by NHS National Services Scotland, which is a special health board.
