Coronavirus (Recovery and Reform) (Scotland) Bill: health, education, public Services and housing

The provisions of the UK Coronavirus Act 2020 are due to expire in March 2022. Secondary legislation to extend five of the provisions by 6 months was laid before the Scottish Parliament on 3 February 2022; if approved by the Scottish Parliament, The Coronavirus Act 2020 (Alteration of Expiry Date) (Scotland) Regulations 2022 will extend these provisions until 24 September 2022.

S6M-16154: Katy Clark: ScotRail's Plans to Reduce Ticket Office Opening Hours — That the Parliament is concerned that rail operator, ScotRail, is reportedly proceeding with plans to reduce ticket office opening hours at 101 of its 143 staffed stations, of which more than 30 are in the West Scotland region, including Wemyss Bay, Ardrossan South Beach, Irvine, Kilwinning and Largs; is further concerned about the impact on passenger accessibility, safety, security, quality of service and access to rail products and services of these proposals and believes that certain groups such as disabled and older people and women and girls will be particularly impacted; considers that ticket offices provide a fixed location for passengers to locate staff and are a place of safety for both passengers and staff; understands that, through schedule 17 of the Ticketing and Settlement Agreement, ticket office staffing is the only regulated station staffing, and, therefore, if there are reductions in ticket office hours, there are no future safeguards regarding station staffing levels; further understands that ScotRail is basing these proposals on a public consultation, which was undertaken in January 2022...

These related to sections 83-85 of the 2020 Act which enabled individuals to withdraw from the PVG Scheme, to apply for removal from the barred list(s), permitted Scottish Ministers powers to obtain information to assess whether an individual is no longer unsuitable and to remove an individual from the list(s).On 19 December 2022,The Police Act 1997 (Offences in Schedules 8A and 8B) Amendment (Scotland) Regulations 2022 updated the offence lists in the Police Act 1997 to reflect the changes listed in the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020.On 01 April 2023,the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020 (Commencement No.2) Regulations 2023 came into force.
