We should look to have a broader experience of civil servants in different Administrations. That is something that the Brown commission looked at in seeking to ensure that people who come into the civil service bring different skills and that there are opportunities for civil servants to work in private firms and the like to get broader perspectives.
It is not acceptable that it has not been audited and NHS Highland has said that that is not acceptable and that it will act on the recommendations of Audit Scotland. Secondly, John Brown’s governance review in NHS Highland is a pilot that is about strengthening governance within our NHS.
