To ask the Scottish Executive what action it is taking to reduce the routine use of antibiotics in agriculture. Veterinary medicines are a reserved matter. The Veterinary Medicines Directorate, an Executive Agency of Defra, is the regulatory authority in the UK for the authorisation, marketing and use of all veterinary medicines including antibiotics.
