This provides that all housing associations who had claimed and been granted the special tax exemption for charities prior to 14 November 1985 or from the date of first being registered if this is later than this date, are exempt from the right to buy.
I suspect that it is just an easy way to get payments into local authority bank accounts. I am not convinced. Could you give us a bit more information on that?
He thanks me for the letters about proposals to the Procedures Committee and apologises for not having responded earlier—he has been on his annual holiday. He says:"I have read with interest the committee's recommendations on the referrals from the Bureau and look forward with interest to you bringing forward a report to be considered by the Parliament."
