Scottish Government ministers and officials engage fully with representatives of all of the sectors which make up the financial services industry in Scotland, particularly though discussions at meetings of the Financial Services Advisory Board, and with appropriate industry representative bodies to ensure we are fully apprised of issues around financial services regulation which may have a particular impact in Scotland.

To ask the Scottish Executive how much of the money that it has provided to Inspiring Scotland for the Go Play fund will be used to pay consultants. Inspiring Scotland may expend up to £420,000 of the grant to cover the cost of employing six professional advisors.
The Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) provide application services to UK universities for full-time higher education courses at undergraduate (and some postgraduate) courses. Applications may also be made directly to institutions.

To ask the Scottish Executive, further to the answer to question S3W-30205 by Richard Lochhead on 15 January 2010, whether the new seal licence system will ensure that all non-lethal measures are used by operators of aquaculture and fisheries equipment and whether a record will be kept of those non-lethal measures that prove to be ineffective and the reasons for their ineffectiveness. It may not be practical to insist that all non-lethal measures are used by fisheries or fish farms before a licence can be issued.
