Wednesday 18 September 2024 18 Today's Business Future Business Motions & Questions Legislation Other Gnothaichean an-diugh Gnothaichean ri teachd Gluasadan agus Ceistean Reachdas Eile Motions | Gluasadan *S6M-14518 Claire Baker: Welcoming Funding of £20,000 to Fife-based Re-Employ from Lloyds Banking Group’s Bank of Scotland Foundation—That the Parliament welcomes funding of £20,000 to charity Re-Employ, based in Crosshill, Fife, from Lloyds Banking Group’s Bank of Scotland Foundation; understands that Re-Employ has been given the funding as a two- year, unrestricted grant of £10,000 per year, enabling it to use the funding to best support the vulnerable people within the community; believes that the funding will allow the charity to work more closely with the local community and unemployed people, people with health conditions and disadvantaged adults, to have work experience to help them move forward in their job search or identify how they can progress life chances; notes that Re-Employ is a social enterprise organisation that produces a wide range of products for domestic and commercial use, and that disabled employees and volunteers experience all aspects of the business, including manufacturing, design, administration, marketing, customer service, packaging, shipping and cleaning; understands that the charity worked with over 30 individuals in 2023, providing a chance to work, build skills, showcase achievements, learn and develop workplace capabilities; commends the charity for its aim to become an SQA-accredited training provider, working with younger people aged 16 years and over who have additional support needs as they transition from school, for developing partnerships, and for its role as a Disability Confident leader; extends its gratitude to the Bank of Scotland Foundation for the award, and further extends its very best wishes to everyone at Re-Employ for the future.

We could ask HMRC to bring that data forward for the years that have just gone by. One could also look at bank account data. Some banks now share data on expenditures and incomes from bank accounts—it is anonymised, obviously—with the Office for National Statistics.
