The only slight issue that I have with the proposal—I know that it is only about people objecting to the groupings—is that there is the Edinburgh trades holiday for two weeks in July. That is still a traditional time to go on holiday.

From what I read briefly this morning, the figure of £88 million that could be generated from trading is comparable with the figure for bank holidays. However, I understand that, even if the SRC has its way, the shops would not be open for as long as they are on bank holidays.

Yesterday, the Executive performed a U-turn on the St Andrew's Day Bank Holiday (Scotland) Bill. I recognise that the Executive is not programmed for any more than one U-turn in a four-year period.
