It is in our interests and the climate’s best interests for the UK and Scottish Governments to build a stronger and more productive relationship to make that possible.
We have a statutory power to issue guidance to public authorities under that duty, and that guidance must be approved by the Scottish ministers. Regulations designating the bodies that the duty will apply to will be laid by the Scottish Government nearer to that time.
