The Scottish Government is taking forward a number of measures to support the provision of appropriate housing for seriously injured ex-service personnel including: issuing a housing circular reminding social landlords of the high priority seriously injured ex-service personnel receive in the allocation of social housing; introducing a simpler and fairer system of financial assistance for home adaptations for a disabled person, coming into force on 1 April 2009, and encouraging registered social landlords to provide additional support and flexibility within the Scottish Government''s shared equity schemes to ensure that disabled buyers, such as injured service personnel, can access the schemes and that the properties meet their particular needs.
