If they do so, they can be told of a number of things about the offender, including his release date; the fact that he has escaped or absconded, if that happens; and when he first becomes eligible to apply for temporary release.
The Bill is now due to have its report stage and third reading on a date to be announced. As the Bill is still progressing through the UK Parliament, it is subject to amendment.

The holidays on 3 and 4 June are bankholidays - the former is to mark the Queen's Golden Jubilee, and the latter is the spring bankholiday which, this year has been moved from 27 May.
