We know that there is a 70 per cent reduction in cancer referrals, which will inevitably have an effect long past Covid-19, and there are continuing reports of cancelled clinics, such that the cross-party group on chronic pain that Miles Briggs convened last Monday heard harrowing stories of patients having to take a 10-hour round trip to England to get essential medicines because of cancelled clinics.
