One of the key points about promoting sport and physical activity in schools is that, if we get people actively involved in physical pursuits—sport and otherwise—at a young age, they will, we hope, carry on that activity in later life and the health benefits that we generate in our young will continue as they get older.I disagree with Mark Ballard's view that a mini-Olympics would be an elitist event, because the Olympic ideal is inclusion and participation, which I think any type of competition should involve.
