To ask the Scottish Executive what role the new Scottish Government Counsellor in North America will have and what is meant by the reference to “co-ordinating” in terms of his remit to co-ordinate the interests of Scottish bodies in North America.
I emphasise that reaching net zero through carbon emissions reductions runs across all our policy areas with regard to the choices that are made, so we have to co-ordinate. Some points were made earlier about housing and energy, EV charging and other areas, and that shows us why there has to be alignment across Government in a lot of these areas.
You only have to go into a small Highland community to see a museum about something—the local clan or a bit of its industrial heritage. Is there enough co-ordination across the sector, whether on the private or the public side?

Secondly, it is important to point out that OPOF is not a Historic Environment Scotland strategy, but a strategy for the historic environment. Yes, we co-ordinated and led its development and yes, we will have a major role in its delivery, but it is a strategy that has been developed by and beyond the sector.
I mean the money advice sector, but I recognise that there is already overlap and that there should be co-ordinated working between that sector and mental health professionals.
