We have heard that the UN Secretary General has called the IPCC’s report “code red for humanity”. He warned: “This report must sound a death knell for coal and fossil fuels, before they destroy our planet.”
I should point out that the duty will be underpinned by the code of practice. To address stakeholder concerns about the matter, a definition will be included in the code.
The latest version of the ministerial code came in under the current First Minister, but I note that, of course, the need for integrity and to declare friendships was in place well before 2018.
