SLE wanted to see the new LCC role operating in a way more similar to the Tenant Farming Commissioner, with the production of codes and guidance.
On the other hand, some stakeholders suggested that the Commissioner’s powers should be widened.
The Committee notes the section 26 requirement for sustainable and regenerative agriculture to be included in the proposed code of practice. The Committee comments further on this provision later in this report.
