This will support a continuation of the National Acquisition Programme which last year allocated over £60m and delivered more than 1,000 affordable homes.
The organisation also has a whistleblowing policy for its own employees, but the audit found a lack of awareness of the policy and the routes and options for employees in the commissioner’s office to raise concerns.
However, we have to strike the right balance: a good enterprise will be good for the customers, the employees and the community. I agree with the motion that we want more “co-operative and employee ownership models”.
As I outlined in my opening comments, the intention of the scientific programme would be adaptive, so we would look to take forward any learning that we pick up through that programme.
Another key aspect of our committee’s longer- term work programme, which again relates to the programme for government, is the proposed human rights bill.
