I am pleased to share with the committee the fact that I intend to start a programme for engagement with south Asia by launching the south Asia development programme later this month.
One of the recommendations that we make is about the importance of “a well coordinated national programme of support that reflects ... good practice and is tailored to meet individual CPPs’ ... needs.”
I am not clear on the position on institutions outside the UK. I can provide a little bit of assistance on that. Normally, the predominance of students studying outside Scotland is in the HE sector.
So far, nothing has happened—there is no such legislation in the legislative programme. I fully expect the proposal to be in the new First Minister’s legislative programme.
Its most recent accolade was a £3 million investment from the Scottish Government to assist the University of Abertay Dundee to create the first UK centre of excellence for computer games education.
