The leader of the Labour group in this Parliament has supported the Government on capital acceleration, so I am surprised that there is not some shared disappointment at the chancellor’s announcement yesterday.I assure Linda Fabiani that the Government will do everything in its power to persuade the incoming UK Government to attach greater priority to fiscal stimulus in 2010-11, to assist us in working our way through these economic difficulties.
