A broad range of petitions has been submitted to us, and we want to know whether there is a process for reviewing the conduct of the SPSO and other Government agencies. I do not want to get into the detail of the petitioner's concerns, because we cannot resolve them—clearly, they are matters for the petitioner and the SPSO.

I am sure that the commission of inquiry will answer that key question, because the answer will tell us whether structural change in the monitoring system is required or whether change in the individual health board is the key.I undertake to ensure that all the information is in the public domain as quickly as possible, including the information that we have, and are getting, from the retrospective exercise that Greater Glasgow and Clyde NHS Board is undertaking.

We should be able to say to Transport Scotland, "Okay, we accept that there has to be an order in which things are done, but the people of Portlethen should be told when Transport Scotland will get round to doing the work." I know the junction well and I agree with Mike Rumbles that something needs to be done.
