Once capital grants are added to total revenue allocations, the total local government settlement, as it appears in the provisional Finance Circular, increases to £12,538 million, a real-terms increase of £603 million or +5.1% between 2021-22 and 2022-23. A complex funding formula is used to calculate how much revenue funding each individual local authority receives.
