I am interested in the points raised in Mark Ruskell’s amendments in relation to the Scottish outdoor access code. As he will well know, I have been trying to get that code reviewed for the past five years, which the Government has steadfastly refused to do—on what basis, I do not know.

The Scottish Government has an IT code of conduct which forms part of employees terms and conditions This code provides guidance on the Scottish Government computer network and, in particular, e-mail and the use of the Internet.

As elected representatives of their communities, community councillors have a responsibility to make sure that they are familiar with, and if the model or any other code is adopted in relation to their community council, that their actions comply with the principles set out in that code.

To ask the Scottish Government whether it plans to review the Scottish Outdoor Access Code. The Scottish Outdoor Access Code was prepared by Scottish Natural Heritage and agreed by Parliament in 2004.
