The Capercaillie Project Officer, funded by SNH, Forestry Commission Scotland and RSPB keeps a full inventory of the deer fences within one kilometre of active capercaillie lek sites. The inventory shows that the amount of unmarked fencing in these areas is continuing to be reduced, and that it currently stands at 17 kilometres.
To ask the Scottish Executive whether it is aware of the organisation, Project Prevention, and what its position is on this organisation becoming active in Scotland. The Scottish Government is aware of Project Prevention and does not support this organisation.
Enterprise Europe Scotland has been carrying out general awareness raising activity and responding to company inquiries with briefings on the eligibility criteria, what is funded, mechanics of the programme etc. and are considering further joint promotion with SEPA.

To allow progress to be measured in relation to the immediacy and speed with which offenders commence and complete their orders, we are currently conducting an audit of activity across Scotland. We will use the findings of the audit to inform our work with partner agencies to strengthen delivery of Community Payback Orders.

The Office of Rail Regulation has determined the funding required by Network Rail for the Control Period 4 from 2009 to 2014, which includes the use of RAB finance for activities contained in Network Rail''s Delivery Plan for this period.
As part of the corporate arrangements for public bodies, officials regularly discuss with the commission its regulatory activities, including its approach to inspections.

Currently, HMP Addiewell has four trained listeners whilst HMP Kilmarnock has five trained (two active at present) plus 10 others in line for training.
