Legislative Consent Memorandum on the Elections Bill - About disqualification of offenders for holding elective offices as a result of intimidatory or abusive behaviour order

It aims to protect candidates, future candidates, campaigners and elected officeholders from intimidation and abuse, both online and in person. It creates a new offence of intimidation of candidates and someone convicted of intimidation will face a five-year disqualification from standing for, being elected to and holding elective office.
