Supported by: Annabelle Ewing*, Rona Mackay*, Stuart McMillan*, Stephanie Callaghan* *S6M-01426 Finlay Carson: The Furniture Project, Stranraer, Shortlisted in Community Regeneration Awards—That the Parliament congratulates The Furniture Project, in Stranraer, on being shortlisted in the Community Led Regeneration category of the prestigious 2021 SURF Awards for best practice in community regeneration that identifies and celebrates best practice, innovation and achievement in interventions that improve Scottish communities; welcomes and acknowledges the important role played by this initiative in the south west of Scotland in helping young people who have been long-term unemployed to gain valuable skills and make personal progress, while supporting community reuse of furniture, clothing and other household goods; recognises the work of SURF, Scotland’s Regeneration Forum, which is a charity with a membership of more than 300 organisations and whose regeneration work assists socially and economically challenged communities in Scotland, and wishes every success to those involved in the awards finals that will take place on 9 December 2021.
