Subject to parliamentary approval, uprating will now be almost doubled for those benefits. The best start grant will also be increased by 6 per cent, and there will be future regulations to increase the carers allowance supplement.
It is therefore crucial that the Scottish Government listen to their concerns and work with them to ascertain how best to ensure regulations operated effectively in practice.
