Codification of trust law
A related question that was raised in evidence received by the Committee was whether the Bill goes far enough in its codification of trusts law.
The Member in charge has responded to the DPLR Committee to say that she is content to make those changes to the Bill, should the Bill proceed to Stage 2 (the first amending stage of the bill process).
What the Bill does
Section 9 of the Bill would give the Scottish Government the power to regulate the provision of contact centres through secondary legislation (made under the affirmative procedure).
The proposed changes also update the rules on the timing of Budget Bills to reflect the fact that the Budget Bill will now normally be published prior to Christmas recess.
