Given the powers that exist in the Convention Rights (Compliance) (Scotland) Act 2001, it was felt that that would be the appropriate way of making changes in relation to the Police Act 1997 and the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.

What does the Bill do?
In line with the conclusions of the Scottish Law Commission, the Bill’s Policy Memorandum states that “the current law on tacit relocation is uncertain; inaccessible; and outdated” and is in need of reform.
