If I am right in believing that every programme and system that you are putting in now has a lifespan and there is a risk of those lifespans getting shorter simply because things are being overtaken, surely there is an even bigger problem in terms of skills and management because what you are trying to do now is less than you will need to do in the future just to maintain what you have, never mind develop new systems that you might want in other areas that are currently not even automated...
