That is a guarantee that they can bank on in these uncertain times. We are also taking action to consider longer-term rights for Scottish citizens who are living in the EU to access further and higher education student support.
A number of key actions are under way to reduce the use of costly agency staff, including the use of a staff bank system and a long-standing framework contract.

Overview of the Bill
This Scottish Government Bill was introduced by the Cabinet Secretary for Education and Skills, Shirley-Anne Somerville MSP on 13 December 2022. The lead committee is the Education, Children and Young People Committee.
Draft standards are due to be published for consultation by the end of 2021, and should be finalised by summer 2022. Our successor committee may wish to keep this work under review, in order to ensure that progress is made as quickly as possible.
