*S5M-04917 Neil Findlay: Whitburn Bank That the Parliament notes with concern the latest — reported proposal by the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) to close its Whitburn branch; understands that this latest branch closure in West Lothian was announced without any prior public consultation; considers that this action again exposes RBS s broken promise to remain in towns ’ and villages where it is the "last bank in town"; believes that the behaviour of RBS in Whitburn and other places in West Lothian has been contemptuous of local people and its loyal customers, and urges the bank to think again, first and foremost regarding the needs of its customers, who are also its shareholders, and act in the interest of the communities that it serves, not as a crude profiteer.
