The Committee has heard some individual examples of where budgets outwith the culture portfolio are supporting cultural activities, however respondents were also clear that overall progress towards implementing a whole-system approach with cross-portfolio funding for culture has been limited.
I will lead on this work as the executive sponsor and have created a small strategic working group of senior leaders alongside key involvement of relevant staff associations, to co-ordinate activity and develop an associated action plan.
