There is a bigger challenge for all of us: it is to ensure that we have a justice system that is properly resourced and in which people know they can get a fair hearing and know that those who disrupt their communities and create victims are held to account.
Like many other social debates of the modern era, the debate is highly emotive and complex, but it is one from which we must not shy away. If we do not get parenting and early education right, we will not get our future right.
I do not think that it is simple, but the reason behind it is about getting a bigger bang for the buck. It is not about building fewer houses; it is about getting efficiencies into the system.
