Background to the Bill
The Bill is largely an amending Bill - that is, it amends and adds new provision to existing legislation rather than being a stand-alone Bill.
Section 26 – Rectification of the Crofting Register
This section amends Part 2 of the Crofting Reform (Scotland) Act 2010, focusing on how errors in the Crofting Register can be corrected.
Dr Andrew Tickell suggested that the different terms given to framework legislation contain value judgements:
