More than that, we would have control over our welfare state, which is something that I would have thought that Malcolm Chisholm, looking at the destruction and devastation being done to it by the Tories, whom he seems to support in the better together alliance, would want. The member has to get it clear in his head whether he and the Opposition are criticising the Government for pressing ahead too fast, as has been suggested, or for not pressing ahead fast enough.

Following last week’s vote in the House of Commons, Stonewall Scotland called on us members of the Scottish Parliament to “get on with it” in relation to equal marriage in Scotland, so I very much welcome the cabinet secretary’s confirmation that a bill will be introduced before the summer recess.
