Key proposals include a new all energy (heat, transport and electricity) renewables target of 50% by 2030 (up from 30% by 2020), and Scotland'sEnergy Efficiency Programme which undertakes to transform the energy efficiency and heating of all Scotland’s buildings by 2035.
This reflects limited powers devolved to Scottish Ministers to design and implement a replacement for the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) scheme in Scotland.
The Scottish Government published its Heat in Buildings Strategy in October 2021, which set out our vision for decarbonising Scotland’s buildings by 2045. We remain committed to that vision and continue to lay the foundations to support the growth of clean heating and energy efficiency in Scotland.
