Our research suggested that the 46 heat networks that we have already identified could provide 8 per cent of Scotland’s heat by 2030. That is a very rapid expansion and also a rapid decrease in carbon emissions.

Action is taking place to tackle alcohol consumption, poor diet and smoking, all of which are known risk factors for oesophageal cancer. Through earlier detection, more rapid diagnosis and treatment, survival after cancer continues to improve.
