Other new and altered motions and amendments *S5M-22587 Liam McArthur: First Online Programmes for Orkney Festivals—That the Parliament welcomes the first virtual programmes for the Orkney Foraging Fortnight and the Orkney Science Festival; notes that both festivals are collaborating, with all events being streamed online; understands that the Science Festival, which starts on 3 September 2020, is celebrating its 30th year with a mixture of interactive workshops and lively discussions on a range of topics, including spaceports, atmospheric pollution and various new events as part of the Year of Coasts and Waters, and that the Foraging Fortnight is running up to 70 events on YouTube to promote the benefits to people's health and wellbeing of being outside and connecting with nature, while showcasing Orkney’s world-famous natural environment and wild foods; believes that both festivals are offering a comprehensive line-up of fun, informative and helpful events for people of all ages that will be enjoyed by an even wider audience than usual because they are taking place online; thanks Howie Firth and all involved with organising the festivals; pays tribute to their adaptability and determination to make sure that both programmes could still run this year, and wishes everyone involved an enjoyable fortnight and every success for both festivals this year and in the years to come.
