That has been applied alongside other offences such as assault and murder, as seen in the case of R v Wilson, where the perpetrator received a life sentence for causing grievous bodily harm with intent and child destruction, with a minimum term of 14 years.
However, we welcome the fact that the bill is taking steps to improve how we regulate with a small r, despite Jackie Irvine’s comments about the practicalities of doing that.
