People from other countries can see examples of best practice on our own doorstep. We should give credit where it is due to such examples of tremendous technological innovation and collaboration in Scotland; however, our visit to Germany showed that we needed to do more in that respect.I have two other observations that we should develop in our inquiry.

Such public presentations can be daunting for the best of us and the fact that the young people performed with confidence and assurance is a tribute to them and shows how far they have come.The next step in the process is to roll out the DVD to local high schools in Airdrie and throughout North Lanarkshire, and a pack is being developed to accompany it.

Those values fit well with the ethos of most schools and the parallel idea of corporate social responsibility is coming in from the other side and the best businesses. With those comments, I support the motion.
