The Greenhouse Gas Emissions Trading Scheme Order 2020 [SI 2020/draft] - Consideration by the Environment, Climate Change and Land Reform Committee

At both meetings, the Committee discussed many issues surrounding the UK ETS, including the scope to link it to the EU ETS, the Emissions CAP, and process of finalising the Framework Outline Agreement - these discussions are captured in the Official Reports (11 August 2020; 1 September 2020) Following the evidence session on 1 September 2020, the Cabinet Secretary moved a motion (S5M-22351) proposing— That the Environment, Climate Change and Land Reform Committee recommends that the Greenhouse Gas Emissions Trading Scheme Order 2020 [draft] be approved.

Introduction At its meeting on 16 December 2020, the Local Government and Communities Committee considered the following instruments: Housing (Scotland) Act 1987 (Tolerable Standard) (Extension of Criteria) Amendment Order 2020 (SSI 2020/draft); and Housing (Scotland) Act 2006 (Modification of the Repairing Standard) Amendment Regulations 2020 (SSI 2020/draft) The two instruments are directed towards the same common purpose: to have a common new minimum standard for fire and smoke detectors across all housing, regardless of whether the house is owner-occupied or rented in the social or private sector.
