We know that serious organised crime is flexible and that it covers all levels of criminality and activity. Activities that are apparently minor or trivial in themselves often form part of a more insidious picture.
The Scottish Government, Scottish Enterprise and Scottish Borders Council are already working closely with the company to explore all possible options for the continued use of the site. We are in active discussions with stakeholders in the seafood sector to identify steps that can be taken to develop the sector including for companies such as Burgons.

Although the legal powers governing flexible working are currently reserved to Westminster, the Scottish Government recognises it has an important role to play in helping people manage the twin responsibilities of work and family. We fund and are an active partner in the Family Friendly Working Scotland partnership.

The action plan format reflects that of the EAG report including the introduction of an underpinning ‘Town Centre First’ principle and it sets out the range of cross-government activities under each of the six key themes, which that group established.
